During our previous Architecture and Design workshop we visited the famous Casa de Las Conchas, 'House of Shells'.  This beautiful building with its rich history was a great source of inspiration for the students.  From the building's exterior walls, which are covered by small, stone-sculpured shells, to the impressive courtyard space, the students had a multitude of architectural elements to sketch.  The building was originally the palace of Rodrigo Maldonado, who was a knight of the Santiago Order, and now houses Salamanca's public library which the students visited in their Lengua y Vida class.
